A short answer

How Do I Know God Is Real?

Christians believe in God because several lines of evidence converge: the existence and intelligibility of the world, moral and spiritual experience, the person of Jesus, and encounters with God in worship and community. These considerations do not force belief or remove every doubt, and thoughtful people weigh them differently. Biblical faith is reasoned trust rather than certainty produced by a single argument.

Signs that point beyond themselves

The order, beauty, and existence of the universe have led many people to ask why anything exists and why the world can be understood. Human awareness of moral obligation, meaning, beauty, and longing also raises questions that a purely material account may not settle for everyone.

These are signs to consider, not shortcuts around science or proof that every religious claim is true.

Look closely at Jesus

Christian belief ultimately centers on Jesus rather than on a generic idea of a higher power. His life, claims, crucifixion, and the early testimony to his resurrection make a historical and personal claim that can be investigated.

Reading a Gospel carefully is one practical way to explore whether Jesus offers a credible picture of God.

Seek honestly without hiding doubt

Doubt can come from intellectual questions, disappointment, suffering, harmful religious experiences, or God's apparent silence. Naming those reasons honestly is often more helpful than trying to suppress them.

You can examine evidence, pray even if you are uncertain, speak with thoughtful Christians, and listen to serious critics. Faith need not be manipulated or rushed.
