AskJesus
Private by default. Grounded in God’s word.

Read. Reflect. Pray. Take the next faithful step.

Use Scripture as more than a quote.

Christian forgiveness surrenders personal vengeance to God and refuses to nurture hatred. It does not require denying harm, removing wise boundaries, avoiding accountability, or restoring trust before repentance and safety make that possible.

Read each passage in its paragraph or chapter. Notice who is speaking, what is happening, what the text reveals about God, and what response it asks from the reader.

Matthew 6:12-15

Begin here and ask how the passage speaks to forgiveness without forcing it to promise something it does not promise.

Matthew 18:21-35

Read in context. Write one truth to carry and one action to take.

Luke 23:33-34

Read in context. Write one truth to carry and one action to take.

Ephesians 4:31-32

Read in context. Write one truth to carry and one action to take.

Colossians 3:12-13

Read in context. Write one truth to carry and one action to take.

A four-step rhythm

1. Name what is real.

Slow down enough to be specific. Faithful reflection works better when the real question is named clearly.

2. Read for context.

Slow down enough to be specific. Faithful reflection works better when the real question is named clearly.

3. Choose one truth to keep.

Slow down enough to be specific. Faithful reflection works better when the real question is named clearly.

4. Turn it into action.

Write an unsent prayer naming the harm and releasing revenge to God, then identify one boundary or repair step to discuss with a trusted pastor or counselor.
