A Prayer for Work
A Scripture-centered prayer for work and a simple way to make the prayer your own.
Bring what is real.
Open the app with the question, prayer, or part of life you are carrying. AskJesus helps you move into Scripture, reflection, prayer, and a faithful next step.
Read. Reflect. Pray. Take the next faithful step.
You do not need polished words.
Work can serve neighbors and honor God, but it is not meant to carry the weight of our identity. Faithfulness includes diligence, integrity, rest, and remembering that some workplaces or seasons require change.
Father, You know what I am carrying and what I cannot fix. Meet me in this season of work. Give me wisdom to see what is true, courage to do what is mine to do, and humility to release what I cannot control. Use Your Word to correct fear, shame, hurry, or disappointment in me. Put wise people around me and help me receive support when I need it. Teach me to be faithful in the next step instead of demanding the whole path at once. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Make it your own.
1. Tell God the specific thing.
Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.
2. Ask for formation, not only relief.
Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.
3. Connect the prayer to Scripture.
Start with Genesis 2:15, Ecclesiastes 3:12-13, Proverbs 16:3.
4. End with one next step.
At the start of your next workday, dedicate one concrete task to God, complete it with care, and stop at a reasonable boundary for rest.
