9:41
Self-Reflection
Ask what you’re carrying.
How can I examine my life honestly without falling into shame?
AskJesus
Private by default. Grounded in God’s word.

Read. Reflect. Pray. Take the next faithful step.

You do not need polished words.

Biblical self-examination is neither self-absorption nor self-condemnation; it is honest attention under God's mercy. The goal is to respond with confession, gratitude, repair, and renewed obedience where God brings clarity.

A prayer for self-reflection

Father, You know what I am carrying and what I cannot fix. Meet me in this season of self-reflection. Give me wisdom to see what is true, courage to do what is mine to do, and humility to release what I cannot control. Use Your Word to correct fear, shame, hurry, or disappointment in me. Put wise people around me and help me receive support when I need it. Teach me to be faithful in the next step instead of demanding the whole path at once. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Make it your own.

1. Tell God the specific thing.

Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.

2. Ask for formation, not only relief.

Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.

3. Connect the prayer to Scripture.

Start with Psalm 139:23-24, Lamentations 3:40, Matthew 7:3-5.

4. End with one next step.

Pray through Psalm 139:23-24 with a journal, record one grace to celebrate and one change to make, and act on that change within twenty-four hours.
