A Prayer for Patience
A Scripture-centered prayer for patience and a simple way to make the prayer your own.
Bring what is real.
Open the app with the question, prayer, or part of life you are carrying. AskJesus helps you move into Scripture, reflection, prayer, and a faithful next step.

Read. Reflect. Pray. Take the next faithful step.
You do not need polished words.
Christian patience grows by practicing restraint, remembering the long view, taking useful action where you can, and refusing to turn delay into panic.
Father, You know what I am carrying and what I cannot fix. Meet me in this season of patience. Give me wisdom to see what is true, courage to do what is mine to do, and humility to release what I cannot control. Use Your Word to correct fear, shame, hurry, or disappointment in me. Put wise people around me and help me receive support when I need it. Teach me to be faithful in the next step instead of demanding the whole path at once. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Make it your own.
1. Tell God the specific thing.
Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.
2. Ask for formation, not only relief.
Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.
3. Connect the prayer to Scripture.
Start with James 1:3–4, Romans 12:12, Psalm 37:7.
4. End with one next step.
Identify the part of the delay that tempts you to force an outcome, then choose the next useful action that does not require control.
