A prayer for loneliness

Father, You know what I am carrying and what I cannot fix. Meet me in this season of loneliness. Give me wisdom to see what is true, courage to do what is mine to do, and humility to release what I cannot control. Use Your Word to correct fear, shame, hurry, or disappointment in me. Put wise people around me and help me receive support when I need it. Teach me to be faithful in the next step instead of demanding the whole path at once. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Make it your own.

1. Tell God the specific thing.

Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.

2. Ask for formation, not only relief.

Use ordinary words. Say what you want, what you fear, and what you need help to do faithfully.

3. Connect the prayer to Scripture.

Start with Psalm 27:7-10, Psalm 68:5-6, Isaiah 41:10.

4. End with one next step.

Choose one low-pressure point of connection today by texting a trusted person, attending a church group, or scheduling time with a counselor.
